A Bunch Of Stuff

You guys. I just love you guys. I really, really do. I am so damn thankful that y'all come back here to read my stuff every day. Or most days, anyway. And not only that, but you click over to Babble and read about me being pregnant even though that's probably the last thing you want to read about considering I'm over here bitching about it most of the time as well.

You guys reading my Babble stuff (or clicking on it) has changed my life in more ways than I can tell you about right now. So thank you. Really, I mean it. I don't want to get all mushy on your asses, so there. That's all I want to say about that. Right now, anyway.

Completely and totally apropos of absolutely nothing - I've been listening to Serge's (former) band Marah a lot lately. I did the same thing when I was really pregnant with Violet. Marah does something to me. I dunno. Especially his first album. I'm listening to the first song, Fever, right now and it just makes me so fucking happy. If you click that link you can listen to it too! There's a link that will play the entire song in the lower left corner.

I like to think about my husband, this scraggly-haired, deep-thinking twenty-something, writing these songs. You know, long before he met the beautiful love of his life who would go on to bear him two children. When he was still a youngblood, drinking a lot and smoking even more.

I'm going to tell you a secret now. Serge probably won't be pleased that I'm telling you where to find this song but hey. It's out there.

The song that made me fall in love with my husband is number 13 here. It's called Punk Rock Radio. Go ahead and listen to it and you'll figure out why it's so strange that of the whole Marah discography, this song does it for me.

As he once told me several years ago, he was messing around with his band in a garage in South Philadelphia. He was *ahem* stoned and adlibbed this goofy, little ditty. The song ended up as the hidden track on the album I mentioned earlier. After I met him I ran out and bought all Marah's albums and listened to them in order. When I discovered this song I was driving and had to pull over, I was laughing so hard. I still listen to it and laugh every time. God, I just love it. Him. He's so fucking funny. It's just so... SERGE.

I've always had a thing for the long-haired, boys who were into music and skateboards. Too bad I grew up around a bunch of flip-flip wearing, buzz cut sporting Mormons.

Speaking of skater boys, that's kind of what I'm babbling about today. That and, uh... skeletons. Check it out.
