Charlie Is Here

So a couple hours after I wrote that last post I went into labor. It all went by very fast. Birth story is coming up, I promise. In the meantime, here are a few photos from the birth of our sweet, mellow baby boy.

Congratulations! A natural birth is an incredibly powerful experience. I'm so glad you were able to do it this time. And how wonderful that baby Charles is a good nurser right from the start! Many best wishes for you and the whole family.

Congrats, Monica & Serge and welcome, Charlie! Reading Serge's side of birth story reminds me so much of my second son's birth: not sure I was in labor, thinking it was going to be all day, shocked/terrified/exhilarated it only lasted two short but extremely painful hours. How courageous of you both to do it on your own terms!

Congratulations to everyone! So glad it all went so well....and so quickly! And can I just say how wonderful it is that his middle name is Maximus. I've been reading your blog for years, Monica. I know how special your Max is to you all. Take care and best wishes!

Yay, he's here! Sounds like it went fast and smoothly, good news all round. However a child is born is a life-changing and powerful experience, especially if it's how you visualised it being, whatever that entails. Now. We want details of weight, length... blah blah, come on woman, you gave birth, like, yesterday! :)

My number 3 - surprise - has so far been the easiest and happiest of all my boys. Maybe it's because I'm not so worried but he has just been a thoroughly easy going, amenable little chap from early on. I wish the very same for you with your little man Charlie.

I've been missing your posts and was worried all was not ok- BUT IT IS, beautiful pictures and the story made me tear up. My son drove a car for the first time the day your baby was born and had his wisdom teeth out the next day. You have so much to look forward to! Thank you for sharing the good and the bad with us- it is so normal, appreciated and totally beautiful.

You don't know me.....but I've been following you for a while now. I just wanted to say congratulations on your new addition. It's amazing I can be so happy for people I've never met, but I feel as though I know you and your family and am genuinely happy for you. God bless you.
